To paraphrase Darius, "There was a lot of love in the room" at our AGM on Friday 27 July.
The majority of the meeting passed by uneventfully with the usal official business, including reports from the key committee officers. Current Chairman (absent due to committments in Sweden) Simon Cove stood down from his role to be replaced by existing committee member Gareth Jones. The rest of the committee remains unchanged with those members up for re-election being voted back on unchallenged. Simon takes up the ordinary member position vacated by Gareth.
The main outcome from the main body of the meeting was the need to increase our income from both new and exisiting revenue streams and a desire to increase our membership from the existing 52.
The real emotion came during our annual awards which came after a tough year for some of recipients. In addition to the award winners below, Secretary Sue Penton thanked everyone attending for their contribution over the last 12 months, highlighting eveyones achivements personally.
