RLT members will once again be participating in Hyde Festival Theatre's annual 24 Hour Plays, which this year celebrates it's 8th incarnation.
Tonight (1/9) 24 actors, 6 directors and 6 writers will meet at the theatre where lots will be drawn to form 6 small theatre companies who must write, cast, rehearse and perform a 1 act play over the following 24 hours.
The writers have the hardest job as they must leave the theatre at 11pm to begin creating a 15 minute piece of theatre overnight, which must be ready to send to print by early Saturday morning in preparation for the actors and directors to rehearse from 8.30am.
Following a full day of blocking, rehearsing, line runs and technical discussions the first of the plays will be performed to a paying audience from 7.30pm.
The performances are open to all and tickets are just £5. All profit goes to the ongoing up keep and repair of the Festival Theatre, which has recently had it's remaining lead stolen from the roof.
Tickets are available from www.hydefestivaltheatre.org.uk, or can be purchase on the door from 7pm.
